Hold on.

In our darkest moments, we don’t need advice.

What we truly need is the power of human connection: a quiet presence, a gentle touch, or the smallest gesture that reminds us we’re not alone. These acts of love and solidarity become the anchors that hold us steady when life feels overwhelming.

Pain is a deeply personal burden, and difficulties are uniquely ours to face—but your silent presence tells me I don’t have to face them in isolation. It’s a quiet reminder that, no matter how lost I feel, I am still worthy of love and connection.

Sometimes, words aren’t necessary; your silent support speaks louder than anything else.  Human connection has the power to help us rediscover ourselves, even when we’ve forgotten who we are.

Never forget the importance of simply being there for one another.

Movement I - Florence & the Machine "Shake It Out" - Florence Welch and Paul Epworth wrote the song in 2010.  The song was written from the desire to overcome regrets and anxieties.  Some key lyrics from that song that resonate with us include:

“It's Hard to Dance With the Devil on Your Back"

“It's Always Darkest Before the Dawn"

Movement II - REM "Everybody Hurts" - Bill Berry (the drummer for REM) wrote this song in 1992.  His intent was to write a song that would reach out to people who felt that they had no hope.  Sometimes when people suffer from depression or anxiety, they allow themselves to suffer in solitude and silence.  During this movement, you are encouraged to stand and shine your cell phone lights if you, a family member, or loved one has ever struggled with depression, mental health circumstances, or grieving for a loved one.  Let your lights show that no one is truly alone in their struggles if they are willing to ask for help.  Sometimes the answer you need may be right in front of you.

Movement III - Coldplay "Fix You" - Coldplay singer, Chris Martin, wrote this song in 2004 to comfort his then wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, after her father's passing.  We invite you to join us in song at the close of the movement on the final lyrics that provide a sense of Hope for the future:

"Lights Will Guide You Home

And Ignite Your Bones

And I Will Try to Fix You"

Our drum majors will turn and invite you to sing at the appropriate time.

We thank you for the opportunity to share our artistic

message of hope with you.

Below are further resources to share with anyone that may benefit from knowing that they are not alone.

It does not take much to help one another to "Hold On."
